Budgeting Tools

Budgeting Tools

Joseph Sangl says …

A written spending plan for your money that includes Giving, Saving, and Spending is critical to achieving financial freedom.  There is nothing more powerful than planning your spending BEFORE any of the money ever shows up and BEFORE the month begins.

To get started using these budget tools, I highly recommend that you first read the “How Do I Budget” series HERE.

These tools require the use of Microsoft Excel.  If you do not have Excel, use a free alternative like Open Office (MAC or Windows)or Google Docs which are both excellent alternatives to purchasing Excel)

The Best Way to Help Others – Just Be There

I remember learning something simple, but very important while assisting my uncle, Richard, with a farm project. Before we  started, he explained, “Aaron, my dad told me that sometimes he just needed me to be there. That’s what I need you to do today. Just be there.”

Even though I was young, I knew what he meant. I tended to not pay attention and  even wandered off at times. I didn’t know when or what he was going to need next, but when needed it, he needed me to “be there.”

This is important. We need to recognize that committing to just be there for someone through a difficult time or situation is the sometimes the best way to help.

Even Jesus expressed this when he was with Peter, James, and John in the Garden of Gethsemane,“My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.” (Matthew 26:38). He didn’t need His disciples to do anything for Him, but he did need them to just be there. Their presence was not only what He desired most, it was all He needed.

Your presence in someone’s life is a truly one of the best ways to help them. I believe that this is true because your presence is a visible image of the invisible presence of the Holy Spirit.

Just be there.
